Who is STORMTECH?
STORMTECH Performance was founded in 1977 by Blake Annable. The company started as a distributor of sportswear and accessories to Western Canada’s sporting goods retailers. In its early years, the company, which was originally called Promark, sold custom t-shirts and custom hats, but when new technology in waterproof and breathable fabrics emerged on the market, Annable’s interest was piqued. Annable saw an opportunity to provide high quality performance outerwear and in 1983, he released the first waterproof jacket under the STORMTECH brand to the Canadian market. It was a fleece lined jacket with a waterproof shell.
The STORMTECH brand is now recognized worldwide as a leader in waterproof, breathable performance wear that tests in extreme environments, from polar expeditions to white water rafting.
Its H2XTREME label is well known amongst outdoor athletes as a trademark of strong performance. STORMTECH often enlists athletes from around the world in various sports and outdoor activities to validate their gear.
